The client wanted to build a community based site for Entertainment Weekly. The site lives on the WordPress.com VIP and wanted to have a similar look and feel as the EW site with limited time frame.
In addition some of the content and widgets needed to be shared from the main EW site.
Our Solution
Working closely with the WordPress.com VIP team, we built the theme as a child theme so that the code review process would be quicker and sharing the widgets between two sites would be easier.
We also created an API on the EW site to easily send the data that would display on the Community EW site with different styling.
Results
We successfully launched the responsive site within a short turnaround time.
The Entertainment Weekly team was able to promote the site for community fan involvement on their scheduled events.
